Cryotherapy

Dr. Louw performs all the usual skin surgery procedures.

These include cryotherapy, which have largely been replaced by photodynamic therapy for some indications. Surgical excision of skin skin cancers, like Basal Cell Carcinoma, Melanoma and Squamous Cell Carcinoma and mole removal where indicated. Moles can sometimes also be removed by a technique called shave excision that generally results in a better cosmetic outcome.

Curettage and cautery is another surgical technique often employed for the removal of minor skin lesions like warts, Seborrheic keratosis and skin tags.

Photodynamic therapy and laser surgery has started to replace and supplemented many of the traditional surgical options for a variety of skin conditions.
