TCA Cross spot peels is used for deeply indented scars and pinpoint (icepick) scars. The scars affect the deep dermis to subcutaneous fat. These scars are easily visible and cannot be flattened out with manual skin stretching.
100% Trichloracetic Acid is applied accurately to the base of the scar with a small wooden applicator or syringe. The acid causes local destruction of the base of the scar and this leads to tissue remodeling and eventaul elevation of the scar.
Multiple treatments might be required to achieve the optimal result.
