Laser Hair Removal

How does laser hair removal work?

Laser hair removal works by destroying the hair bulb where hair grows from.

How many laser hair removal treatments will I need?

Depending on the area that is treated, you will need between 4 and 8 treatments.

Why are more than one laser hair removal treatment necessary?

Hair grows in cycles. At the time of a specific treatment session only a certain percentage of the hair follicles will be producing hair. Only hair follicles containing hair can be destroyed by the laser. Multiple treatments, spaced 6-8 weeks apart, are therefore needed to “catch” all the hair follicles in the phase where they have hair in them.

What does laser hair removal cost?

It depends on the size of the area being treated.

The following table can be used as a guideline. Prices are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR).

Will the hair come back?

Laser hair removal will remove +-80% of pigmented hair. The remaining hair will be finer and lighter. Generally the overall effect should be a 80-90% improvement.

Does laser hair removal have any side-effects?

In experienced hands side effects are extremely rare, but blistering and pigmentation changes are possible. These will resolve over weeks to months.

Is laser hair removal treatment painful?

The pain sensation depends on a few factors. Firstly, is the type of equipment that is used. Treatment with older, so called first generation IPL machines, is sore because the machines emits a wavelength of light that heats water. Second generation machines do not heat water and do therefore not need any pain control. The area that is treated also influence the pain sensation. Genital areas are more sore than the legs. The pain threshold individuals also vary. In general if you can tolerate waxing in the bikini area, then laser hair removal with us should be very easy to handle.

I have a hairline hair that never grows, this makes it hard for me to go out with my hair. I have decided I want the hairline hair removed permanently so that I have a new hairline and hair of the same height. Its just a thin line of hair at the front of my hair which also make me have a short forehead. How much can it be to remove this hair and how many treatments will I need to do?
